AED Inc. (AED) is a solutions-driven, multi-discipline engineering, construction management, professional services and information technology firm that delivers high-quality cost-effective services to public and private clients. We hold two GSA Professional Services (00CORP) Federal Supply Schedules: a Consolidated Schedule including Professional Engineering Services (PES), Environmental Support Services (ESS), and IT services, and also the former MOBIS 874 Schedule for Business Consulting Services. In addition, we are a SeaPort-e Prime contract holder. Our Cage Code is 0VM93. We are both MBE and DBE Certified in multiple States.
Headquartered in Hyattsville, Maryland, AED currently employs 60+ staff across 12 states. We have branch offices in Greenville, SC, Atlanta, GA, Orlando, FL and Jersey City, NJ. Our clients are consistently pleased with our ability to manage multiple projects and resources simultaneously. AED is reliable, consistent and solution-oriented. We have successfully managed numerous design, engineering and facilities projects providing the necessary and often surge, resources in a timely manner.
Our staff is comprised of Professionals Engineers, Certified LEED Professionals, Certified Energy Managers, Registered Architects, and other industry-relevant appropriately registered technical personnel. Our project expertise is federal, commercial, state and local, water/wastewater, educational, industrial, retail, hospitality, stadiums, and healthcare facilities. Our services include Commissioning, Electrical, Energy Analysis, Facility Assessments, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, HVAC, environmental, Sustainable Design ,LEED commissioning, and retro-commissioning. We have the capability and capacity to work in both cleared and non-cleared facilities and environments as required to meet the mission objective of our clients.
AED’s MEP design capabilities also include certified fire protection and complete MEP design. We offer full-service MEP/FP for well-coordinated facilities including design services to the public and private sectors for varied project types in both new construction and renovation. In addition to our full-service MEP/FP for well-coordinated facilities, AED’s capabilities include Programming, Master Planning, Design-build, Owner’s Representation, Design Criteria and Reviews for ADA Compliance, Commissioning and Construction Engineering and Inspections (CEI) and Construction Management. Through the development and application of best practices – those that are proven to be the most effective and efficient – We deliver excellence.

- AED provides deliverables on a project-byproject basis, from concept through completion, using resources with the sole focus of fulfilling the goals of the GSA in Region 4 which encompasses 93,000 employees, and 42MM sq. ft of rentable space.
- GSA MID-ATLANTIC REGION (3) The US Food and Drug Administration – White Oak Campus – $1.5M, over five years
- AED provides professional technical resources, including cost estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews.

- Heating Operations and Transmission District (HOTD) Engineering & Environmental Support services
- AED is providing acquisition, budget, building management, construction management, environmental, facility operations, electrical, chemical, mechanical, and industrial engineering, estimating, scheduling, and project management services.
- GSA NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (11) – $250K
- Treated Wastewater Feasibility Study
- GSA commissioned Advanced Engineering Design, Inc. to evaluate the existing boiler feed water treatment process and to identify limitations associated with the process. AED has studied the existing water treatment system and chemical additions which seem adequate, except for the amount of feed water, which will be adjusted as conditions dictate.
- GSA NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (11) – $60,000
- Photovoltaic Study
- AED developed a 60 KW Photovoltaic (PV) solar panel design to provide for maximum capacity of renewable energy for this facility. The design was completely coordinated with the Assistant Secretary to the U.S. Commissioner of Fine Arts to assure that the historic preservation of this facility were maintained.
- GSA NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (11) – $25,000
- Closed Loop Bearing Cooling Study
- AED prepared a feasibility study for a new bearing cooling water distribution system project. The goal of this project was to assure that the critical boiler maintenance operations could be implemented while maintaining plant operations as this system cannot be interrupted. This included the cooling systems for the bearings on critical boiler support induction and forced draft fans, boiler feed water pumps, and the two 5 megawatt steam driven turbines that generate the electricity to operate this critical facility.

- Energy Star® Roof Design
- AED designed a new roofing system incorporating LEED® related concerns for heat island effect.
- GSA NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (11) – $15,000
- Temporary Boiler Relocation predesign
- AED provided the preliminary design, and supporting documents to be presented to the Fine Art Commission, for permit approval.
